The Family Foundation ministry is a Christian literature ministry committed to help families, to be built on the strong foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ

It was started as a small initiative – a Family News Bulletin in April 1978 meant for Private Circulation. This was soon after we had attended the 10 days National Family conference held at Highfields, Kotagiri conducted by Jane and John Martin. As a newly married couple then, we learnt so many truths from the Bible about Christian marriage and God’s beautiful purpose and plan for couples and families. One of the truths that was greatly impressed upon was “We can name the earthly home as the branch office of the Heavenly home which reflects the purpose and features of the heavenly home.” Soon after that conference, we desired to share with others what we had learnt and what we continued to learn from other mentors and senior couples.

We were of the strong opinion that next to the ministry of preaching; the ministry of Christian literature is the most powerful means for spreading God’s word. Thus, was birthed this 4-sided monthly news bulletin which carried a solid couple Bible study, ‘Know Our EFG Families’ section, ‘Titbits’ or News for Prayer & Praise and a ‘Note from the Editor’. The readership consisted predominantly of Christian believers who belonged to the Tamil Nadu, Evangelical Graduates Fellowship, a part of Union of Evangelical Students of India.

Soon an Editorial Board could be set up which included the earliest members being Mrs. & Mr. VCA Isaac and Mrs. Mr. A.S.J Swamidoss. By 1982 the title of the magazine had changed to Family Foundation and became a registered bi-monthly magazine with the Press and Registration of Books Act of 1867. Since then, it has had a wider reach and has been a blessing to several homes within India and overseas.

As years passed by time this literature ministry has evolved by adapting its methods and message to changing cultural contexts and technological advancements, while remaining rooted in its core mission of spreading the Biblical truths. The distribution of the literature through print media continued till April 2025, along with being supplemented by digital platforms. Since, technology allows Christian ministries to reach people across geographical boundaries and cultural contexts, it has been decided to continue this ministry through the website to share the content and engage with audiences.
