Once I was healthy
I thought l can do mighty things
And I could accept challenges
But When I met with an accident
I was totally broken from head to toe
So that I become inwardly mature
And become thro’ Him and in Him
More than a conqueror.
Once I was a body builder
I was proud of my muscles.
I thought my shoulders can carry everyone
But I was carried by many shoulders, stretchers and wheelchairs
So that I might lean on His bosom.
Once I was strong and handsome
I thought I can win the praises of many
But I was in my death bed and lost the hope to live
So that I might experience the resurrected power of Christ.
Once I was crazy for costly shoes
But I couldn’t walk for many months
So that I might follow the footprints of my Master.
Once I was after pleasure
I thought I can enjoy life
But I was tortured with Mental and physical agony
That I might learn the sufferings of my Lord Jesus Christ
and have Him as my Best Friend.
Once I thought I was intelligent
I can achieve all my goals
But I faced disappointment after disappointment
So that I might fully depend on His wise unique plan for me
Now I understand the real meaning of Disappointment.
For they are the Appointment form my Lord
To transform me and make me
The aroma of the Cross of Calvary.
Santosh is a young aeronautic engineer. He completed his studies at Madras in May 1995. On the 1st of Jan. 1995, he had dedicated his life for the service of the Lord and He wanted the Lord’s will to be accomplished in and thro’ His life. During his spare time and holidays, he would join Evangelical teams to spread the Gospel.
In June 1995, he had been to Orissa on one such missions. The team had gone on three metador vans. On their return Santosh was driving the middle metador van. The van he was driving was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction and he met with a gruesome accident. He was rushed to a nearby rural hospital where there was only meagre medical facility. After a few days he was transferred to Apollo hospital, Hydrabad with little hope of recovery. They gave him more than 30 bottles of blood and did several surgeries on his body. Santosh became a miracle for the medical personnel.
During his long stay in the hospital, God was able to reach out to many people in the hospital thro’ him and his parents. God also gave Santosh enough faith, courage and strength to go thro’ the whole trauma and draw him closer to Him. Even though Santosh was wounded, today he has become a wounded healer with God’s great strength.
